Another weekend to be framed! Andrea Locatelli dominates the World SSP600 and Beatrice Neila wins the Woman’s European Cup

What happened in Aragon and Imola last weekend is something worth framing. At Motorland and on the banks of the Santerno river were staged respectively the WSBK and the CIV and on the Aragonese track there was yet another dominion of Andrea Loka#55 Locatelli after taking his fifth consecutive pole position of the season on Saturday, by lowering its chronometric reference of last week to 1'53"003, he has made his own both races in the program thus adding up nine wins in a row. Andrea has also set the new circuit record for the SSP600 lowering his old record to 1'53"990 so being the first rider able to go down under the wall of 1'54. To describe what Andrea is doing, the adjectives are missing since no one had ever been able to do it before. Loka#55 is the real star of the championship that in the past years had always lived on very hard races and whose result remained uncertain until the last corner; today, the wait is only to know when and where he will demolish another record. The rider from Alzano Lombardo has even more strengthened its position as a leader of World standing reaching 225 with an advantage over the second Jules Cluzel of 79 lengths when at the end of the championship there are still 7 races to go.

A great weekend also for Manuel Gonzalez current World Champion of WorldSSP300 and youngest World Champion in the history of on road racing. The Airohrider ended sixth and eighth respectively in the two races held and he is ninth in the overall ranking.

While in Italy, more precisely in Imola was scheduled the third round of CIV, here again there were satisfactions starting from the beautiful pole position of Edoardo Dodo#47 Boggio in the Premoto3 and Beatriz Neila in the Woman’s European Cup who won the race and earned her the award of the continental title.

Dodo, on the other hand, was unlucky on Saturday race where he had to retire for mechanical troubles when he was fighting for the first position as well as on Sunday he was dominating, but slipping to two laps from the end when he had a couple of seconds advantage over the rivals.

As regards the SSP300, beautiful the two podiums of Mattia Martella, a first and a second place, and that of Nicola Settimo, third in Race 2 and leader of championship ranking followed by Manuel Bastianelli and Martella, Three Airohriders in front of everyone.

Lorenzo Zanetti also took a podium in the SBK after the American trip, where he took part in the Motoamerica event held at The Ridge Motorsport Park in Shelton. The rider from Brescia finished second on Saturday and third at the end of the Sunday race.
