From Portugal to Italy relentlessly. On the weekend of 25-27 of June, World FIM EnduroGP Championship stopped off in Italy, Edolo (BS), in the upper Val Camonica, for the second round of the 2021 EnduroGP season. A race that is made of a way 30 km long, to repeat four times per day with three different special races in the sequence: Enduro Tests, Cross Test, Extreme Test. A sum of 12 stages per day, preceded by Super Test disputed late on Friday afternoon, a sum of 25 timed races.
AIROH collected great victories and podiums on this weekend too, thus confirming to be the leader of Overall Classification of EnduroGP with the English Brad Freeman, who is the winner both on Saturday and on Sunday and twice first in E3 class. In EnduroGP third and fifth position for the Spanish Josep Garcia, two amazing fourth places for Andrea Verona, eighth and third place for the British Steve Holcombe, seven times champion, who ran with a broken rib. Sixth and seventh position for the New Zealander Hamish Macdonald, tenth and ninth for the Belgian Antoine Magain, twelfth and fifteenth Daniel Mccanney. More, the exploit of World Champion of WESS 2018 Billy Bolt: the English scored the best overall time in Super Test on Friday and an excellent fifth and tenth place in EnduroGP.
AIROH’s supremacy in E1 class with Verona, the great winner of the two days and best time in even 16 special races. On Saturday, in this class, Magain got twice the third position and Samuele Bernardini ended fourth and won two special races too. The Brazilian Bruno Crivilin gets a sixth and an eighth place respectively while Kade Tinkler-Walker closes both days in ninth position.
In E2 class, second and third position for Garcia, third and fifth for Bolt, two fourth for MacDonald, one fifth and one second for Holcombe, unfortunately slowed down by two slips in special race on Saturday and Sunday. Jack Edmondson finishes in tenth and eighth position.
AIROH’s overall supremacy in E3 with Freeman, Jaume Betriu twice second while Daniel Mccanney ended on fourth and third position. Enric Francisco gets a seventh and an eighth position.
In Junior class, the Finn Rony Kytonen (Honda-RedMoto) got twice on the second place of the podium. Note that Kytonen was the only rider in race for Honda Racing RedMoto World Enduro Team because of the absence due to an injury of Thomas Oldrati and Theo Espinasse.
AIROH riders of EnduroGP will be back to races in mid-July with the two consecutive GP’s in Estonia on 17-18 in Saaremaa and the following week in Sweden in Skövde where they will run on 23-24 (Friday and Saturday).
