AMA Supercross - Round 5 - Indy
Marvin Musquin started out the night strong with a win in his heat race. In the 450 main event Musquin would have to overcome a 16th place start to finish 11th by the checkers
Jason Anderson over jumped a triple in the first qualifying session dislocating his finger. In the second qualifying session he attempted to continue but had to retire for the night.
Musquin: “I had a good day going and my speed was decent but I just had some costly mistakes, same as Saturday. The heat was awesome, I got up front and won the heat so I got a good gate position for the Main Event. I had an okay start and I was in good position but going into the tunnel I came in a little too fast and I hit Aaron Plessinger’s wheel and went down. I’m just trying to work on minimizing the mistakes and stay on two wheels next time and we will be fine.”
Anderson: “Been a really tough start to my season. My results are not where they have been in past years and I’m not happy about it at all. Today I didn’t crash or anything I just landed and my hand slipped and I dislocated my finger… As much as a frustation it’s been no place I’d rather be then here trying to problem solve how to go faster and better on my dirt bike! Sorry to my sponsors and fans but I’m gonna heal up and be back out there trying hard ASAP!”
RJ Hampshire is out with a broken hand until the SLC rounds.
